Nancy Mandeville Moore of Maitland, Florida, age 89, went to be with her Savior on August 13, 2023. Nancy was born in New Castle, PA on August 26, 1933. She was blessed to be surrounded by family and loving friends who helped her navigate her illness through her final months and days.
Nancy lived her long life as a gracious, hospitable, and wise woman. After graduating from Geneva College she taught school, but after moving to Florida she raised her family and hosted her children’s friends at her Lake Brantley home.
Nancy was a long-time member of Orangewood Church. She served in many capacities, most notably as a member of the pastoral search committee. She was a peacemaker and confidante, with a quiet inner strength. She found ways to be a light, trusting God’s purposes for her life path. Through the years, Grammy (as she was known to most) was a thoughtful encourager and prayer warrior for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild, whom she dearly loved. Women in crisis sought her out as a trustworthy friend. She made a point of befriending the lonely and had a tender heart for those in need.
Though we will miss Grammy’s signature humor and warm smile, we are thankful she is free of the confusion she has experienced in recent years. We are especially grateful to God for providing the certainty of seeing her again in the future.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Elizabeth Mandeville, her daughter Jennifer, her son Jonathan, and her grandson Zachary. She is survived by her brother, John Mandeville (Sandy) and family; her son, Paul (Sandy) and children Jonathan, Samuel, Joshua, Ruthie, Noah (Kendall), her son, David (Maggie) and children Drew, Jennifer (Matt), and great granddaughter, Ellie, her daughter, Carol (John), and children Robin and Anton, and her son Jonathan’s wife, Eli, and children Josiah (Heidi), Zach, Lily and Ben.
A celebration of life will be held at Orangewood Church, 1300 W. Maitland Blvd, Maitland, FL 32789, on August 26th at 3:00 p.m.
