At almost 97 years old, Gloria Webster lived to see three grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and left a legacy of love that extended well beyond her immediate family. She adored children and children adored her! Her passion was family and music.
Gloria loved playing the piano and could not only read music, but play almost anything by “ear”. Her favorite song was, “How Great Thou Art”, and she could still play it by memory, even when her body and mind started to fail. Gloria’s love for music and playing the piano was rooted early in life, planted by her mother, Sadie Arbutis Martin, who was an accomplished pianist and music teacher. Gloria had the gift of hospitality. Her door was always open to family and friends and her table was always laden with cakes, cookies and fudge.
She loved to cook and could magically elevate leftovers to make delicious meals. If you were fortunate enough, you might even get music and a meal! She loved spending time in God’s Word and demonstrated God’s love through her unconditional love of her family. We are comforted in knowing that Gloria is in the arms of Jesus, without pain, in a glorious new body and surrounded by long-missed loved ones.
