Law enforcement authorities have arrested a 42-year-old man who they believe is responsible for a fatal shooting in an Orange County neighborhood that claimed the life of another man earlier this month.

On Thursday, April 18, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office arrested Charles Edward Hollins in connection with the shooting death of 46-year-old George Samuels III.

The fatal shooting occurred on Sunday, April 7. On that day, at around 9:55 p.m., OCSO deputies responded to the 1000 block of 24th Street in Orlando in reference to shots being fired in the area.

When the deputies arrived on scene, they found an adult male victim who had sustained a gunshot wound, according to the sheriff’s office.

The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased. He was later identified as Samuels.

“We have no additional details to release at this time,” stated the Orange County Sheriff’s Office in a media release on Thursday, April 25.

Hollins is currently being held without bond at Orange County Jail. He is being charged with second-degree murder with a firearm.
