Firefighters rushed to a Maitland neighborhood on Thursday evening after used fireworks ignited a house fire.
According to the Maitland Fire Rescue Department, firefighters responded to a residence located on Apache Trail and observed flames that were spreading up a wall into the home’s attic.
MFRD crews sprang into action and blasted the exterior of the home with water. The flames were quickly extinguished.
In a social media post on Friday morning, the fire department stated that the home’s residents had placed used fireworks in a garbage bin, which ultimately caused the fire.
