A 37-year-old Orlando man was killed on Wednesday morning after his motorcycle crashed into a turning car on U.S. 17-92 in Seminole County.
The fatal crash took place on U.S. 17-92, near the intersection of General Hutchinson Parkway, at around 9:35 a.m. on Wednesday, October 30.
According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol, the Orlando man was riding a Harley-Davidson motorcycle northbound, in the southbound outside lane, on U.S. 17-92.
As the motorcycle approached the intersection, a Honda Passport that was heading eastbound on General Hutchinson Parkway began making a left turn onto U.S. 17-92.
The report stated that the front of the motorcycle proceeded to crash into the front of the Honda at the intersection. After the initial impact, the motorcycle rotated in a counterclockwise direction before striking a concrete barrier wall.
The motorcyclist was transported to HCA Lake Monroe Hospital in Sanford, where he was pronounced deceased. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, according to the report.
The Honda’s driver and sole occupant, a 44-year-old Winter Springs woman, told an FHP trooper that she had sustained minor injuries in the crash. However, she refused medical treatment and remained at the scene.
The trooper noted in the report that the crash remains under investigation.
