An 18-year-old man accused of murdering a teenager in Orange County last month has been located and arrested in North Carolina.
On Friday, November 15, police officers apprehended Ja’Corey Latrieus Lowery in Salem-Winston, North Carolina, on a first-degree murder warrant in connection with the shooting death of 17-year-old Arthy Sony Cetoute.
The fatal shooting occurred shortly after 7 p.m. on Thursday, September 5, in the 1800 block of American Boulevard in Orlando.
OCSO deputies quickly arrived on scene after receiving reports of shots being fired in the area. Upon arrival, they located a 17-year-old boy, Cetoute, who had sustained a gunshot wound.
Cetoute was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. Two days later, he died from his injuries at the hospital.
According to the sheriff’s office, detectives launched a homicide investigation, which led them to securing a warrant for the arrest of Lowery on a first-degree murder charge.

Lowery remains in custody in North Carolina as he awaits extradition to Orange County.
