An 18-year-old man was arrested for the murder of another man in west Orlando earlier this month.
Lamar Alberto Mitchell III was arrested on Friday, October 14, in connection with the murder of 28-year-old Louvens Joseph, who was found suffering from gunshot wounds on Silver Star Road.
During that incident on October 3, police were called in reference to a shooting and found Joseph upon arrival. Joseph was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
Authorities say that Mitchell was arrested at the Orange County Courthouse while he was attending a plea hearing for his arrest in May, which spawned from charges of possession with intent to deliver cocaine and carrying a concealed firearm.
Mitchell is being charged with the second-degree murder of Joseph. He is currently being held at the Orange County jail, according to court records.
