Mad Cow Theatre is hosting its final set of shows in anticipation of its planned closing next month.
The theater, which is located at 54 W Church Street, hosted opening night of See Rock City on Friday. The play runs through Sunday, April 24.
Set in America during the waning years of World War II, the play follows a young couple as they traverse problems in their relationship.
Performances are at 8:00 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, and 3:00 p.m. on Sundays. Tickets range in price from $30 to $52 and are available for purchase at the Mad Cow Theatre website.
Protective face masks are optional for all productions, events, and activities at the theater.
In February, city of Orlando officials waived over $425,000 in accumulated rental debt and interest for Mad Cow Theatre and allowed the company to set the terms of its exit.
According to the city, “in an effort to amicably settle the dispute,” officials have negotiated a settlement agreement in which Mad Cow has agreed to vacate the building by May 31 in exchange for forgiveness of the debt owed.
The settlement agreement also requires that Mad Cow leave certain property and equipment so that the premises can continue to be operated as a performing arts space under a new operator, according to city records.
