A sushi restaurant was forced to close its location in Altamonte Springs after an inspector cited rodent activity and issued a stop sale for multiple items that were not being refrigerated at the right temperature.

Hana Sushi, which is located at 397 E Altamonte Drive, Suite 1200, was forced to temporarily close on Friday, December 9, after an inspector with the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation cited at least 22 health code violations.

Among the violations were seven considered high priority, including the presence of rodent activity. During the inspection, over two dozen rat droppings were found around the kitchen. Additionally, a stop sale was issued for raw beef, sushi rice, and raw egg shells, all of which were kept at temperatures that were too high.

The restaurant was reinspected on Saturday, December 10, and although 17 health code violations remained, the restaurant was permitted to reopen.
